Join the Meadow team – Kitchen Assistant

We’re looking for a confident and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our close-knit team at Meadow.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys making great food, takes pride in quality and presentation, and is comfortable taking responsibility in the kitchen. You’ll play a key part in preparing our homemade menu and running breakfast service, as well as supporting lunch prep and service later in the week.

The role is primarily Wednesday to Saturday, 8am–4.30pm, with occasional Sundays. We work to a monthly set rota, so you’ll know your shifts in advance.

We’re looking for someone who can commit to regular shifts throughout the year and would like to become a long-term part of Meadow.

About the role

You’ll be responsible for preparing and running our breakfast service from Wednesday to Saturday, making sure food is consistently prepared and presented to a high standard.

Alongside breakfast, you’ll help prepare some of our homemade cakes and puddings, help with lunch prep, and support lunch service on Fridays and Saturdays.

We’re a small team, so we’re looking for someone who is happy to take ownership of their work, make sensible decisions during service and get stuck in wherever needed. There will also be opportunities to bring your own ideas to the kitchen and help us develop seasonal bakes and dishes for the menu.

What you’ll do

• Prepare and produce dishes from our homemade menu

• Run breakfast service Wednesday to Saturday, maintaining consistent quality and presentation

• Help prepare cakes, puddings and other bakes

• Help with lunch prep and support lunch service on Fridays and Saturdays

• Take responsibility and make confident decisions during service

• Help with ordering, stock control and kitchen organisation

• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and food safety

• Work closely with the Front-of-House team to keep service running smoothly

• Contribute ideas for seasonal bakes, dishes and menu development

You’ll be a great fit if you

• Have experience working in a café, restaurant or similar kitchen environment

• Are confident working independently and taking responsibility for your section

• Can stay calm, organised and practical during a busy service

• Take real pride in the quality, consistency and presentation of your food

Join the Meadow team – starting September 2026

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Barista to join us from September and become part of our long-term team, ideally working 4-5 days/week (including Saturdays and Sundays).

We’re looking for people who can commit to regular shifts throughout the year and are keen to become part of our team for the longer term. This is not a summer or holiday role. Applicants must be aged 18 or over.

About the role:

Coffee is at the heart of what we do. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in every drink they serve, enjoys working efficiently during busy services, and understands that great hospitality is every bit as important as great coffee.

Alongside making consistently excellent coffee, you’ll help welcome guests, support the wider Front-of-House team, and ensure every customer has a fantastic experience from arrival to departure.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare consistently excellent espresso-based coffee and seasonal drinks

• Maintain high standards of quality, presentation and speed

• Welcome guests and provide warm, friendly service throughout their visit

• Support with taking orders, serving food and drinks, and running food when needed

• Keep the coffee station clean, organised and fully stocked

• Help maintain a welcoming café environment

• Work closely with the kitchen and wider Front-of-House team

You’ll be a great fit if you:

• Have solid barista experience and a passion for great coffee (ideally at least 1-year experience)

• Are confident leading our drinks team in a busy café environment

• Thrive on friendly, hands-on customer service

• Are excited about contributing to a new, evolving venue
