***Christmas Holidays: we are currently closed for Christmas break and open again on Wednesday 7th January***
Our food is fresh, honest and full of flavour – led by the seasons, sourced with care, and made to be enjoyed in good company.
Whether you’re stopping by for a slow breakfast, a quick lunch, or something sweet with your coffee, our menu is all about quality ingredients and relaxed, unfussy plates. We work closely with brilliant local producers and bakers to bring you the best of the region – and a few carefully selected extras from further afield.
Proudly serving traceable speciality coffee roasted in Somerset by Brazier Coffee Roasters
Mornings here are about comfort and a little indulgence – whether that’s sourdough toast with butter and lemon curd, a smoky bacon sandwich, or our autumn favourite: banana bread with yogurt and maple. For something more sustaining, the butter bean mash with roasted mushrooms and tomatoes is a seasonal highlight.
Alongside breakfast, our counter is always filled with pastries from Dough, in-house bakes, and on Fridays, the much-loved creations from Longstraw. And if you need a bright kick to start the day, our ginger, lemon and apple shot does the trick.
Lunch is about generous plates and good company. You might start with olives, warm flatbread, or our butter bean & muhammara dip – ideal for sharing with a glass of St. John wine.
Mains are rooted in the season: roasted carrot and coriander soup with sourdough, leek rarebit bubbling with flavour, or our pulled pork piled high with tahini yogurt and sumac onions. For something lighter, there’s a warm autumn salad of butternut squash, puy lentils and feta, with the option of smoky chorizo. And don’t forget pudding – perhaps a soft meringue with roasted pear and damson sauce, or our amaretti crumble, perfect with a coffee as the days draw in.
Afternoons at Meadow Café are made for slowing down with something sweet. Our counter is filled with cakes and bakes fresh from the oven – from sticky gingerbread and chocolate espresso cake to damson bakewell and a light lemon & poppy seed. There’s always Baboo Gelato in the freezer, pots of Exmoor Tea ready to brew, and the kind of treats that make you want to linger just a little longer.
